What the analyzer measures

The report is built from your profile stats and the last 12 posts and Reels. For every account you get:

  • Engagement rate — how actively your audience responds relative to its size;
  • Engagement without your most viral post — your true baseline, with the outlier removed;
  • Average and median likes and comments — medians resist being skewed by one big post;
  • Comments-to-likes ratio — a proxy for how conversational your audience is;
  • Posting frequency and consistency score — how often and how regularly you publish;
  • Format mix — Reels vs. images vs. carousels, plus median Reel views when available;
  • Top 3 posts — your best recent content, so you know what to make more of.

The engagement rate formula

We use the standard public-data formula:

ER = (average likes + average comments) / followers × 100%

For music accounts, roughly 1–3% is typical, above 3% is strong, and below 1% usually means content isn't reaching or resonating with the audience. We also recompute ER with your single most viral recent post excluded — if the two numbers differ a lot, one hit is carrying your average.

Why a music-specific analysis?

Generic audit tools benchmark you against beauty brands and meme pages. Musicians play a different game: Reels with your own sound are a discovery channel, comments predict superfans, and consistency matters more than raw follower count. Our recommendations are written for artists — what to post, how often, and what to fix first before your next release.

3.2/weekPosting frequency

…followed by your format mix, top 3 posts, and a prioritized list of recommendations like "Less than 40% of recent posts are Reels — aim for 2–3 per week using your own music as the sound."

Limitations

  • Public accounts only — private profiles cannot be analyzed.
  • Metrics are based on the last 12 posts; very new or rarely-posting accounts get less reliable numbers.
  • Instagram does not expose reach, saves or story data publicly, so those are out of scope.
  • We do not estimate fake followers — see the FAQ for why.

Privacy

We only read data that is already public on Instagram. We never ask you to log in or connect your account, and we don't sell or share analyzed data. Reports are cached for 24 hours to keep the tool fast and free, then refreshed on demand.

Frequently asked questions

Is this free?

Yes. You can run a few fresh analyses per day; cached reports for already-analyzed accounts are unlimited.

Do I need to log in with Instagram?

No. The analyzer only reads what any logged-out visitor can see on a public profile. We never ask for your password or access to your account.

Can you analyze private accounts?

No. Private profiles are not visible to the public, so there is nothing we can (or should) read.

How fresh is the data?

Reports are cached for 24 hours. If an account was analyzed recently, you get the cached report instantly; otherwise a fresh analysis usually takes under a minute.

Why only 12 posts?

The last 12 posts represent your current strategy. Older posts reflect what you used to do — including them would blur the metrics you can actually act on.

Do you show fake-follower percentages?

Not yet. Reliable fake-follower detection needs a large follower sample and a verified model; we would rather show fewer numbers than made-up ones.
